New Kent Lady Trojans’ tennis capture first regional championship since 2000

New Kent High School’s Lady Trojans’ tennis team captured the Group 3A Region A championship with a 5-1 victory over the Lakeland Lady Cavaliers Friday afternoon.

It is the school’s first regional championship in the sport since 2000. The Lady Trojans’ will now advance to the state tournament that begins on June 2, with New Kent expected to host the opening round.
