NKHS Spring Sports Signing Day 2025

Several student-athletes put their names to paper during New Kent High School’s Spring Sports Signing Day on Apr. 11. Eleven graduating seniors announced their post high school graduation plans in front of family, friends, and teammates. Above, Madison Johnson is proud to announce her commitment to the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams as a distance runner for their track and field program.

Noah Cuic, who is coming off a Class 3A all-state recognition in wrestling, will be taking his talents on the mat to Roanoke College.

Meghan Fly will navigate the pitch in field hockey as she makes her commitment to Franklin & Marshall College.

Matthew Gentry will take his transition from the diamond in New Kent to the field at Richard Bland College in baseball.

Michael Hetzel will continue his outstanding performance on the baseball field as he will enroll at Roanoke College.

Grayson Hobson looks to further his athletic career in baseball as he will take the plate at Guilford College.

Tristen Jenkins will look to dominate on the gridiron as he inks his name to continue his football career at Ferrum College.

Abbie Kegley’s strong bat and fielding abilities in softball has landed her the opportunity to play at the University of South Carolina-Aiken.

Tyler Warren will be learning a new trade at The Apprentice School as he will also be taking the field as a member of the baseball team.

Ty Staub will be looking to take the Averett Cougars to the next level as a member of their baseball team.

Will Ross has elected to improve his basketball game as he will enroll at post-graduate school at Spire Prep Academy.
