New Kent Massage opened its doors to patrons on Tuesday, Mar. 3 in Quinton. Located at 3215 Rock Creek Villa, New Kent Massage offers professional therapeutic massage therapy and massage services, including deep tissue and sports massage. Owner Donald Greiner said he started the business to offer affordable, quality massage therapy services to the community and to help people achieve a more comfortable, healthy, and happy life. Providence Forge woman wins $4 million from VA lottery scratch game

A Providence Forge woman received a very unique Valentine’s Day present: $4 million dollars. Brenda Maxey won the top prize in Virginia Lottery’s “$4 Million Mega Multiplier” scratcher game, purchasing the ticket on Feb. 14. Maxey purchased the ticket at Chubby’s gas station in Sandston. “I looked at it and looked at it again,” she said. “I thought ‘That can’t be right!’” Maxey elected to take the cash option for the winnings, which will pay her slightly more than $2.1 million. Prizes in the “$4 Million Mega Multiplier” range from $20 to $4 million.

New Kent Environthon is April 18

New Kent Extension Office is currently organizing the sixth annual Environthon/Earth Day scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 18, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the New Kent Cooperative Extension Office. The office is currently looking for people to provide an environmentally friendly/green/recycled product, share knowledge on environmental issues, or other organizations that may do so. The event is centered around Earth-friendly activities for all ages. If you know of anyone who would like to participate or seek more information, contact Patty Townsend at 966-9645.
