Bottom of the Bridge LaSertoma offering scholarship grants

Bottom of the Bridge LaSertoma Club is offering two scholarship grants to graduating students of New Kent High School. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a New Kent High School Senior pursuing a college education at either a community college or four-year institution. A $500 will be awarded to a New Kent High School senior enrolled in a technical, nursing, or culinary arts field through Bridging Communities Career and Technical Center. Jeffrey McCuistion, a resident of Providence Forge, recently earned a degree from the University of the Cumberlands. McCuistion earned a Master of Science in Justice Administration at the end of the Fall 2020 semester.

Jefferson named to Old Dominion University’s Dean’s List

Mikaela Jefferson, a 2018 graduate of New Kent High School, has been named to the Dean’s List at Old Dominion University for the Fall 2020 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must be enrolled full-time by taking at least 12 credit hours and accumulate a grade-point average of 3.4 or better.

The New Kent Lions Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship to one graduating student at both Charles City and New Kent High School. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduated based upon community service, leadership, future goals, extra-curricular activities, and needs.
