Heritage Public Library receives second grant from National Library of Medicine

Heritage Public Library has received a second National Library of Medicine Grant. The grant, in the amount of $22,900, will provide funds for the project “Health and Science Literacy Programs and Resources for the Rural Communities of Charles City and New Kent.” Funding will specifically target purchasing STEAM kits for families, health education themed board games and puzzles, and collection materials for all ages according to Heritage Public Library Director Chandra McPherson. “We are very grateful for the opportunity for the opportunity from the National Library of Medicine to update and share the library’s vital science and health information and…

Let’s get to everybody’s favorite topic when it comes to motorists commuting from Charles City to Prince George, Hopewell, and other southside localities: The Benjamin Harrison Memorial Bridge. Over the past two years, the bridge has caused as many headaches as the Airport Road/New Kent Highway roundabout did when it was first constructed.
