The Virginia Capital Trail Foundation and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a new anti-litter initiative as part of the Virginia Capital Trail’s fourth birthday separation. The “Adopt-a-Trail program” is geared to have residents adopt a portion of the 52-mile trail to keep it clean, similar to VDOT’s “Adopt-a-Highway” program. “We are excited to join with our friends at VDOT on a program that will help enhance the naturally aesthetic appeal of the Virginia Capital Trail,” said Cat Anthony, executive director of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. “Making the Capital Trail litter free is consistent with our values…

Whenever I put posts up on our social media sites, I usually monitor them to make sure that comments are not demeaning or inappropriate as the Chronicle is read by patrons of all ages. The proposed Chickahominy Power Plant and the C4GT Power Plant are not owned or operated by Dominion Energy. They are privately owned, and we do not know who will manage these plants. Upon arriving, what I saw was an overwhelming, enormous, and overpowering structures. What I heard was very loud, and while the grounds were cleaned, I was told they must remain clean. The Dominion presenter, while the staff was courteous, said that there were no jobs filled by Greensville and…

As one board member on Charles City County’s School Board, I want to thank everybody who have come out to support our athletic programs. The girls’ volleyball game showed a lot of positives from both our student-athletes and fans. The sportsmanship and support that was provided is the type we need at all of our athletic events. Saturday night’s football game was an amazing sight. While the Panthers were competitive and did not win the contest, it was wonderful to see a majority of the fans stay until the end of the contest, applauding our kids and congratulating them on…
