The talk over the last week about New Kent County has revolved around the acquisition of 600 acres of land in Quinton by the Pamunkey Tribe. The 21st annual Civil War reenactment at Fort Pocahontas will take place on June 2-3 in Charles City. Celebrating the 154th anniversary of the action of Wilson’s Wharf, the grounds will have live history and battle reenactments from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 2 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on June 3, located at 13150 Sturgeon Point Road, Charles City. Other activities planned are the firing of an 1841 eight-inch mortar and a meet-and-greet with mounted cavalry.
