Letter to the Editor: Water-ski ordinance should remain untouched

I would like to bring the upcoming hearing concerning water-skiing on Chickahominy Lake to the attention of New Kent residents. Two county residents have been repeatedly lobbying for the county’s board of supervisors to repeal the ban on water-skiing in the lake. This is a bad idea and the regulation should remain for several reasons. First, there are the recreational opportunities. Chickahominy Lake is currently an area where it is still safe to kayak, canoe, and operate smaller water craft because of this regulation. Letter to the Editor: Thanks New Kent rescue workers for assistance

I would like to thank [New Kent] Fire Stations 1 and 3 for their help on Nov. 11 when my brother, Michael Ballard, had a heart attack and died. The firefighters were wonderful and so helpful. I would like to thank Deputy David Teagle for his assistance during this period of time. He stayed with me and guided me through this process. Such a time is so stressful.
