Letter to the Editor: Thanks New Kent rescue workers for assistance

I would like to thank [New Kent] Fire Stations 1 and 3 for their help on Nov. 11 when my brother, Michael Ballard, had a heart attack and died. The firefighters were wonderful and so helpful. I would like to thank Deputy David Teagle for his assistance during this period of time. He stayed with me and guided me through this process. Such a time is so stressful. Letter to the Editor: Says more people should help New Kent firefighters and rescue workers

We would like more people to help the firefighters and rescue workers in our community. We think people should appreciate them more. They are nice, caring people and they risk their lives to save others. We are going to visit them and give them goodies and make them scarves to stay warm.
