Two residents named to Dean’s List at University of Alabama

Two local students were recognized for their academic success at the University of Alabama. Ashton Little of New Kent and Jenna Warlick of Providence Forge were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2024 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must be enrolled full-time and accumulate a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Five locals named to College of William & Mary’s Spring 2024 Dean’s List

Five local students were named to the Dean’s List at the College of William & Mary for the Spring 2024 semester. Jackson Henning and Gabriel Merritt, both of New Kent, Trey Christman and Catie Bennett, both of Providence Forge, and James St. Martin of Lanexa, were all recognized for their academic achievements. In order to earn Dean’s List honors, a student must be taking at least 12 credit hours and accumulate a quality point average of 3.6.

Crawford earns academic honors at Abilene Christian University

Peyton Crawford, a resident of New Kent, was named to Dean’s Honor Roll at Abilene Christian University for the Spring 2024 semester. To receive the accolade, a student must be taking at least 12 credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher.

Lisa Barber, a resident of New Kent, was named to the Honors List at Mercy College of Ohio for the Spring 2024 semester. To be recognized for the achievement, a student must be taking at least six credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.3 or higher.

Rooted in faith and support of each other during the most trying times, Charles City County High School’s Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation milestone Saturday morning inside of the high school gymnasium. Charles City High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian- Kaylen Cotman

Kaylen Cotman posted a grade-point average of 4.19 as valedictorian for Charles City High School’s Class of 2024. She is a member of the National Honor Society, CCHS Marching Panther Band, Project Discovery, cheerleading squad, and softball team. Kaylen will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University and plans to major in political science. She is the daughter of Rakia Baker and Keith Cotman.

Charles City High School Class of 2024 Salutatorian- Landon Adkins

Landon Adkins is salutatorian of Charles City High School’s Class of 2024 with a grade-point average of 3.95. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Project Discovery, served as a senior class officer, and participated on the boys’ basketball team. Landon plans to attend Christopher Newport University and double-major in psychology and political science. He is the son of Brandon and Lisa Adkins.

‘Record-breaking’ New Kent Class of 2024 celebrate with milestone recognitions

With monumental milestones and numerous achievements, supporters of New Kent High School Class of 2024 saw 275 students graduate as part of June 7 ceremonies at Kaplan Arena on the campus of William and Mary.
