Skipjack Solar Facility opens in Charles City County

Skipjack Solar Facility, the largest utility-scale solar facility in the Commonwealth of Virginia, opened on Thursday, Nov. 3 in Charles City County. Covering more than 2,000 acres of land, more than 500,000 solar panels are compiled to generate up to 175 megawatts of clean, renewable electricity. “We are excited to bring the Skipjack Solar Center into service and are grateful to so many people who supported this project, and community leaders,” said Leo Moreno, AES Clean Energy President. Martell named to Dean’s List at American University

Christopher Martell, a 2021 graduate of New Kent High School, was named to the Dean’s List at American University for the Spring 2022 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must accumulate a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher while enrolled full-time.
