Benjamin Hager, a native of Quinton, was initiated into the Hampden-Sydney College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. Students who are selected to be inducted must be at least a sophomore in college, in the top 35 percent of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars (collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, scholarship, and servitude), and embrace the ideals of the Omicron Delta Kappa society.
River’s Rest Marina and Resort in Charles City County is under new ownership. Blue Water and National Land Lease Capital (NLLC), based out of Maryland, took ownership of the property on Apr. 1, 2022. NLLC acquired the property in 2019 via a foreclosure auction and completed a renovation, expansion, and rezoning of the property. New Kent High School’s Fashion Club will host its second annual fashion show on Mar. 31 at 7 p.m. inside the high school’s auditorium. The show is presented in collaboration with the My Princess Project, a nonprofit organization that helps teenagers get a dress to wear to prom.
