Dr. Anita Harper has been named as the new principal at Charles City County High School. Harper recently served as an assistant principal at George Wythe High School in Richmond. She has over 20 years of educational experience, holding positions as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) business teacher, education for employment coordinator, and serving as an adjunct instructor for Southside Virginia Community College, and John Tyler Community College. Local residents recognized for academic achievement by James Madison University

Several local students earned academic honors as part of the Spring 2022 semester at James Madison University. Larsen Stewart, a resident of Providence Forge, has been named to President’s List for the Spring 2022 semester. In order to earn the accolade, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.90 or higher while taking at least 12 graded credit hours. Some politicians have the power of persuasion and use it over a wide range of issues. They hope to influence peoples’ opinion to their advantage. What are opinions anyway? Two local residents complete studies at College of William & Mary

Two local students recent graduated from the College of William & Mary during the Spring 2022 commencement ceremonies. Rachel Sowder of Quinton was awarded a Juris Doctor for the completion of her studies. Victoria Morales of New Kent earned a Bachelor of Arts degree for completing her studies.

Students exceed quality point average to make Dean’s List at College of William & Mary

Five local students were recognized by the College of William & Mary for making the Dean’s List during the Spring 2022 semester. Joey Houska and Todd Reynolds, both of Lanexa, Abbey Coutu of Barhamsville, Ellie Ferrell of New Kent, and Aug Gilbride of Providence Forge, were recognized for their academic honors. In order to be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time, take at least 12 credit hours, and accumulate a quality point average of 3.6 or higher.

Jefferson earns Dean’s list honors at Old Dominion University

Mikaela Jefferson, a 2018 graduate of New Kent High School, was named to the Dean’s List at Old Dominion University for the Spring 2022 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or better.

Brame earns Spring 2022 Dean’s List honors from University of Delaware

Annabelle Brame, a 2020 graduate of New Kent High School, earned Dean’s List honors from the University of Delaware for the Spring 2022 semester. In order to receive the accolade, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
