New Kent resident Andrea Staskiel, who also serves as chairwoman of New Kent’s School Board, was recently selected as the executive director of WindsorMeade in Williamsburg. Staskiel will oversee the Life Plan Community and will manage all aspects that include providing services to the 305 residents and daily operations involving 157 team members. “My passions are connecting, serving, and making a positive impact,” Staskiel said in a press release. “I believe that life has meaning because of the relationships we forge, and I look forward to building new friendships with the WindsorMeade residents and team.”
Edward Darlington, a native of Charles City County, has retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service after a 59-year career at the Harrison Lake National Fish Hatchery. Darlington began his career on June 1, 1962 and has made significant contributions to the service’s fish and conservation program and to the National Fish Hatchery. He began as a fish hatcheryman helper before promoted to a fish hatcheryman. In the 1970s, he became a maintenance mechanic and eventually a heavy equipment instructor in 1985. Jacqueline Clardy-Josephs, a 2019 graduate of New Kent High School, was recently initiated into the Randolph College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Society. Students who are initiated into the organization must be in the sophomore class or later, be in the top 35 percent of their class academically, demonstrate leadership experience, and embrace the Omicron Delta Kappa ideals.
Lars Friedriszik, a resident of New Kent, was recently named as general manager of the Richmond Marriott Downtown. Friedriszik has held leadership positions for more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, most recently serving as general manager of the Courtyard and Residence Inn in downtown Richmond.
