Editorial: What kind of examples are we setting for the next generation today?

By Andre Jones | September 28, 2021 2:58 pm

If you think the faces of the youth of America are buried deep into cell phones and other forms of technology, think again. There has been a longtime stigma that the next generation of leaders are too focused on what’s going on now to care about their long-term future. Once again, this assumption is wrong. Letter to the Editor: Some people can’t fight the battles that need to be fought

By Community Member | September 28, 2021 1:38 pm

In a ‘Letter to the Editor’ entitled “This isn’t the United States of America that we are living in” in a previous edition of the Chronicle, I was an “armchair quarterback,” pontificating on things but avoiding participation in real corrective action. When most people think of addiction, the first few items that come to mind include drugs, alcohol, or gambling. But there are so many more things that a person can get hooked on, and all of them aren’t necessary bad. Addictions are tough things to deal with, especially when you look at how time has changed our perception of a few areas. A perfect example of this are video games. In the 1990s, I…
