Robert Ashley Moore, 49, of New Kent, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, as the result of an automobile accident. Ashley was a 1992 graduate of New Kent High School and went on to attend Brevard College. A true outdoorsman, Ashley loved visiting the mountains, hunting, saltwater fishing, water-skiing, and “bare-footing.” He also enjoyed golfing, watching NASCAR, and was quite gifted with culinary skills, often cooking up greens, cornbread, seafood, and wild game. Catherine Seitz Hargan

Catherine Seitz Hargan, 68, passed away quietly in her home after a lengthy battle with brain cancer on the morning of Nov. 5, 2022. Catherine was valedictorian of her high school class in 1972 and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Masters of Social Work. After graduating, she returned to her home of New Kent to work in the Department of Social Services and serve the communities of New Kent and Charles City. Hyacinth W. Brown passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, surrounded by family and loved ones. Hyacinth was born on May 7, 1959 in Cornwall, New York. She lived her life the way she wanted with no complaints or regrets. One of her signature statements was “I got this”. Life will not be the same without her presence. Carol was born in Syracuse, New York, on May 10, 1944, to the late Edwin Hockridge and Edna Martin Hockridge. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
