New Kent wrestlers post 4-1 record in Trojan Duals

New Kent’s host Trojans finished 4-1 in Saturday’s New Kent Duals wrestling competition. The Trojans defeated Spring Valley (W.Va.) 65-15, Manassas Park 59-16, Hopewell 64-15, and Powhatan 42-40, but fell 31-29 to state fifth-ranked Mountain View in the day’s final. New Kent’s Trent Ragland (182 pounds) went undefeated for the day, capturing the event’s moat valuable wrestler award. Also unbeaten for the Trojans were B.C. LaPrade (145), Shane Weimer (106), Blake Hohman (152), Kade Sanders (160/170), and Brian Gray (160/170).
