Lamprecht captures gold at 3A Region A cross-country championship meet

New Kent’s Isaac Lamprecht conquered the Bells Mill Park course in Chesapeake as he emerged as the Group 3A Region A cross-country champion during the Nov. 2 meet. Lamprecht ran a time of 16:33.63, more than 30 seconds faster than his next closest competitor as he powered New Kent to a third-place finish and an automatic qualifying berth in the Group 3A State cross-country championships. Will Ashley’s time of 17:53.75 placed him ninth among competitors in the competition. New Kent’s Isaac Lamprecht finished as runner-up in the Bay Rivers District Championship cross-country meet held Tuesday afternoon at Jamestown High School. Lamprecht clocked a time of 15:54.66 to earn the silver, finishing behind Grafton’s Connor Linehan. Scorers for the Trojans were Will Ashley (22nd-17:50.70), Ryan Wright (35th-18:18.07), Luke Holloway (42nd-18:46.47), and Luis Macia (45th-18:54.56).
