Hal Wallof, a native of Tampa, Florida who now resides in New Kent, will have his artwork exhibited as part of an Invitational Art Exhibit hosted by Visual Arts Committee of Arts Alive Inc. in West Point. Wallof has specialized in oil paintings for more than 25 years. His work has been displayed at a variety of locations that include Wallace Manor in Providence Forge, the Greater Lanexa Studio Tour, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio school. Kim Turner, director of New Kent Parks and Recreation, was elected to the Virginia Recreation and Park Society Board of Directors on March 13. “VRPS has provided me with many opportunities over the last seven years and traces back to when I was a student at Longwood College,” said Turner in a press release. “I feel my leadership skills, my commitment to the profession, and my passion for parks and recreation will be an asset to the VRPS Board of Directors.” Turner takes over for Mike McCarty, who resigned from the position on Feb. 27.
