Chronicle announces holiday hours

The New Kent-Charles City Chronicle has announced holiday hours for the upcoming editions. The office will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 for Christmas and Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day. Deadline for ads and submissions for the Dec. 28 issue is Tuesday, Dec. 26, 5 p.m. Deadline for the Jan. 4, 2018 edition is Tuesday, Jan. 2, 5 p.m.

As New Kent County continues to grow, businesses are looking at the opportunities to fine prime real estate in the locality in order to become profitable. Sometimes, the business attempts to locate to New Kent is met with opposition. When Wilco-Hess originally decided to build a gas station adjacent to the Pilot on Route 106 (Emmaus Church Road) near Interstate 64, people began to question the decision. Providence Forge’s Christmas Parade provided an opportunity for families to come out and spend some quality time with each other.
