Rappahannock Community College (RCC) has announced a fall offering of the Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) program this October. The program, entitled “Continuing the Magical Tour of New Kent County,” will be a follow-up from the spring 2016 program. Under the instruction of LaVonne Allen at RCC’s New Kent Campus, attendees will walk along the Washington Rochambeau Wagon Trail used in 1781, sit in the jury box at the Old New Kent Courthouse, and meet a mystery guest at the New Kent Historical Museum. Malcolm Xavier Jones, a 2011 graduate of New Kent High School, completed his studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015. Jones is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in music with a concentration in choral conducting and vocal performance at San Jose State University. He currently performs with the San Jose Opera Company in their production of “Lucia di Lammermoor.” Malcolm is the son of retired Col. Herbert C. Jones Jr. and retired New Kent High School principal Yvonne Jones of Providence Forge.
