John Tyler Community College is offering scholarship opportunities for new and returning students. Applications are currently being accepted for John Tyler Community College Foundation scholarships covering the 2016-17 academic year. To be considered for a Foundation scholarship, students must meet the following criteria: -Complete the JTCC Foundation Scholarship Application for the 2016-17 year, found online at www.jtcc.edu/scholarships. -Have in-state tuition status. -Have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5. -Be enrolled or plan to enroll in a certificate/degree program at John Tyler for the 2016-17 academic year. -Complete a 2016 FASFA and have it on file prior to the scholarship…

The Board of Directors of Arts Alive, Inc. is proud to announce the awarding of two scholarships this year. The first scholarship, the C. Herbert Brown Jr. Performing Arts Scholarship, was established in memory of founder, president, and director C. RCC-RILL makes debut in New Kent

Rappahannock Community College (RCC) has announced that the offering of the Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) program will be available in New Kent beginning this spring. The program is designed to be a life-enriching and thought-provoking noncredit college-level course to appeal to a variety of interests. Subjects covered include historical and archeological courses, social sciences, musical and literary cultures, and more. Courses will also revolve around many locations in New Kent. New Kent County Fair set for Aug. 12-14

The 45th annual New Kent County Fair is Saturday, Aug. 12-14. Applications and information for vendors and sponsors are currently being accepted. Volunteers are needed for set-up, take down, helping out during the fair, and working the parade. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13.
