C&F Financial Corporation’s board of directors has declared a 30-cent per share dividend payable July 1, 2014 to shareholders of record as of June 13. The corporation is the one-bank holding company for C&F Bank.

I would like to commend Superintendent Dr. Rick Richardson and transportation director Stephen King for their help during the May 10 weekend. The Law Enforcement United-Police Memorial bike ride had just reached New Kent in Lanexa when a severe storm broke. The group of over 300 riders were forced to find shelter from the lightning and rain back at Liberty Baptist Church. The buildings were locked so they huddled under the pavilion and against the buildings although there was not enough coverage from them.
