New Kent boys’ cross-country team emerged as winners of the Group 3A Region A Championship meet ran at Bells Mill Park on Nov. 1. Patrick Johnson emerged as the overall winner with a time of 16:52.58, easing his way to victory by more than 15 seconds. Teammates Gabriel Bollhorst (18:20.90) and Colin Pierce (18:33.70) placed in the top ten, finishing seventh and ninth respectively. Monday night’s Senior Night football game for New Kent can be considered a sweet sendoff for the group who had yet to have a winning season.
