New Kent’s Lady Trojans have dealt with adversity throughout the 2022-23 season. And with the Feb. 2 Senior Night contest against the visiting Warhill Lady Lions, their effort fell short to close out the home regular slate. Warhill opened up with a strong first quarter en route to a 57-27 Bay Rivers District victory over the Lady Trojans. Charles City’s Panthers have run the gauntlet against top ten teams ranked in Class 1A in Virginia. After dropping losses to tenth-ranked Carver Academy and seventh-ranked Northampton, the Panthers welcomed fifth-ranked Middlesex as part of Senior Night. New Kent’s Trojans were riding a seven-game winning streak as they engaged in a rematch against the visiting Smithfield Packers. After the Trojans struggled in their first contest against the Packers, it would be foul trouble and lackluster defense that led to Smithfield’s second victory over the Trojans.
