New Kent continues a strong start to its 2026 baseball campaign. Behind a one-hit, eight strikeout performance from Jonah Sorrell, New Kent captured an 11-1 victory over the visiting Smithfield Packers in Friday afternoon’s baseball contest. New Kent’s girls’ and boys’ track and field team placed fourth in the Bay Rivers District home meet on Mar. 25. New Kent’s 4×800 meter relay team of Andrea Dallaire, Audrey Hudson, Aubrey Loucks, and Olivia Hudson ran a time of 10:37.61 to win the event. Ryan Griffith was the other event winner for the Lady Trojans, capturing the girls’ triple jump with a distance of 34’7”. They did so in Monday afternoon’s contest against the visiting Lafayette Lady Rams. Behind a no-hitter performance from Vyktorya Otey, New Kent coasted to a 14-0 victory over the Lady Rams.
