The Lady Trojans scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first frame as they delivered a 12-2 beatdown over the visiting York Lady Falcons in the Apr. 1 Bay Rivers District match-up. New Kent continues a strong start to its 2026 baseball campaign. Behind a one-hit, eight strikeout performance from Jonah Sorrell, New Kent captured an 11-1 victory over the visiting Smithfield Packers in Friday afternoon’s baseball contest. It wouldn’t be until the bottom of the fourth inning when the scoreboard began to light up for the Trojans. New Kent’s girls’ and boys’ track and field team placed fourth in the Bay Rivers District home meet on Mar. 25. New Kent’s 4×800 meter relay team of Andrea Dallaire, Audrey Hudson, Aubrey Loucks, and Olivia Hudson ran a time of 10:37.61 to win the event. Ryan Griffith was the other event winner for the Lady Trojans, capturing the girls’ triple jump with a distance of 34’7”. After a scoreless first half in a Mar. 26 non-district contest against the Lakeland Cavaliers, New Kent searched for some offense to help return to the win column. Apparently, James Yates heeded the call for help. Yates notched four second half goals at New Kent rolled to a 6-0 victory over the Cavaliers in the boys’ soccer match. Coming off a rare loss to rival Poquoson to start the season, New Kent’s Lady Trojans looked to take their frustrations out in their home opener. They did so in Monday afternoon’s contest against the visiting Lafayette Lady Rams. Behind a no-hitter performance from Vyktorya Otey, New Kent coasted to a 14-0 victory over the Lady Rams.
