Barbara Ann Shoda Taylor, 75, of New Kent, Virginia, was called home to our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022. Barbara was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late Mary and John Shoda. She was a loyal and obedient servant of God. She passionately loved her family and friends, as well as sharing the love and warmth of our savior Jesus Christ with as many people as possible. Carol Ann Hockridge Moon, of New Kent, Virginia, passed away on Oct. 8, 2022, after an unexpected hospital stay. Carol was born in Syracuse, New York, on May 10, 1944, to the late Edwin Hockridge and Edna Martin Hockridge. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Carol was extremely proud of her son, daughter, and grandchildren. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lanexa and especially loved working with the children. Ann H. Seitz, 95, of Quinton, Virginia, went home to the Lord on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022. Ann was the daughter of the late Edward and Hilda Hightower. Her greatest joy in life was her service to her church and her family. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harold K. Seitz; siblings, Evelyn and James Hightower; and two beloved grandsons, Paul Mula and Thomas Groves. George Henry Haupt Jr., 76, of Urbanna, Virginia and formerly of Charles City, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 7, 2022. Henry was an avid saltwater fisherman and outdoorsman. George was born in Richmond, Virginia, on July 23, 1935, to the late Hugh Pearson and Alice Fisher Moore. He graduated from New Kent High School and furthered his education by attending and graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1958 with a major in agronomy.
