Samuel “Scootie Red” Irvin Charity Jr., 70, of Charles City, Virginia, completed his job here on earth on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gwendolyn Charity; two daughters, Arese Stewart and Lenora Charity; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Ethan Charity; three sisters, Colleen Hall, Evelyn Adkins, and Dawn Cotman; other siblings and family members, Oliver Walter, Tracy Jones, Karen White, Jamie Coleman, and Rodney Coleman. Otis Eugene Timberlake Sr., 95, of Providence Forge, Virginia, passed away Feb. 11, 2021. Otis was a member of the “Greatest Generation” and bravely served his country as a Private First Class in the 63rd Infantry of the United States Army during World War II. While fighting in the European Theater, Otis was captured by the German Army as a Prisoner of War.
