There’s an old saying that “more is enough.” For the New Kent Trojans, facing the visiting Grafton Clippers on Jan. 26, Josh Moore was too much. For nearly one half, Charles City’s Lady Panthers played stride for stride against Northampton’s Lady Yellow Jackets, even holding the lead after the first quarter. But an inability to rebound and make stops on the defensive end added up to another loss for the hosting Lady Panthers. New Kent’s Lady Trojans entered the Jan. 24 contest searching for a win to restore positive momentum heading into the home stretch of the season. However, it wouldn’t come easy when facing a York Lady Falcons team that entered the contest winless. New Kent’s Trojans needed to play near perfect basketball to defeat a Tabb Tigers’ team that beat them 78-59 in the first encounter.
