Sometimes a strong start leads to a strong finish. That is what happened as New Kent’s dominance overwhelmed the visiting York Lady Falcons 25-13, 25-11, 25-19 in the Sept. 21 Bay Rivers’ volleyball match. New Kent’s Lady Trojans field hockey team faced a Jamestown team that took on two personas in the Sept. 21 Bay Rivers contest. As New Kent hosted the visiting Bruton Panthers on Friday night at the Ed Allen Jr. Complex, it was as simple as saying that the guests were in the wrong place at the wrong time. New Kent accumulated 466 rushing yards and scored nine total touchdowns, steamrolling Bruton 61-6 in the Bay Rivers opener for the Trojans. Apparently after the visiting Lafayette Lady Rams won the opening set during the Sept. 14 contest at New Kent, those words eventually doomed the guests.
