Paddy McSweet team wins NK 4-H golf tournament

The Paddy McSweet team of Pete Sweet, Ray O’Leary, Brian McCaughan, and Conner O’Leary carded a 15 under par 57 to win the New Kent 4-H Golf Classic held on April 19 at Brookwoods Golf Club in Quinton. Davis Produce (Paul Davis, Craig Pierce, Bill Gammon, Bill Hopke) placed second with a 12 under par 60 while Pro Powder & Paint (Jim Fyfe, Jacob Fyfe, Kevin Harrison, Richard Calvert) came in third at 11 under par 61. New Kent pitcher Marisa Bush struggled in the circle through the early innings with Poquoson’s invading Islanders at the plate. The visitors stranded runners in scoring position in each of the first three frames. Bush, however, had no problems at the plate, stroking a two-run double in her first at-bat to provide all the runs she would need.
