Warhill uses two late goals to spoil Senior Night for Lady Trojans

After a fast start to the season, New Kent’s Lady Trojans have struggled in the final games of the season on the pitch. On Monday night, too many lapses on brought the Lady Trojans’ sent the hosts back into the wrong column. The visiting Warhill Lady Lions spoiled Senior Night for the hosts, taking down New Kent 3-1 in the Bay Rivers District contest. New Kent falls behind early, can’t catch up to Tabb in boys’ soccer match

Pulling off an upset in any sport requires preparation, determination, and a little bit of luck. Unfortunately for New Kent’s boys’ soccer team, a May 11 visit from highly ranked Tabb proved that getting all three can be difficult. Tabb’s visiting Tigers jumped out to an early lead before withstanding a late Trojans’ charge in clinching a 6-2 victory. New Kent’s dismal first half factored into an early deficit. Charles City girls, boys place fourth in home track competition

Charles City’s girls’ and boys’ track and field teams both accumulated fourth place finishes at their May 5 home meet featuring seven teams. In boys’ competition, Charles City’s Walter Dickerson finished second in the discus with a mark of 95’10”. He also placed third in the shot competition with a heave of 32’8”. Dickerson’s two marks accumulated all 14 points for the Panthers. And unfortunately for New Kent’s Lady Trojans’ soccer team, those waves washed away in the second half of an Apr. 27 match against the visiting Mechanicsville Lady Mustangs. New Kent’s boys’ soccer team have been trying to figure out what type of team they are. On Apr. 25, they received another lesson in working out the kinks to be successful. After hanging tough for the first portion of the game, New Kent fell to the visiting Smithfield Packers 5-1 in Bay Rivers District action.
