New Kent freshman Isaac Lamprecht clocked a time of 17:44.60 to finish in 36th place at the Group 3A State cross-country championship on Apr. 21 at Green Hill Park in Salem. A two-hour trip to northern Virginia and an undefeated George Mason Lady Mustangs team were the obstacles New Kent Lady Trojans’ volleyball team needed to overcome to claim a spot in the Group 3A state championship game. But that was the task New Kent’s Lady Trojans volleyball team had to accomplish to earn a trip to the state quarterfinals in their third encounter with Lafayette’s Lady Rams.
