He was especially close with his sisters Emma and Ellie. He was fiercely protective of them and always had their best interests at heart. Eric was gentle and loving with animals, including his cats Nip and Hum, and his cat Graystone, whom he was heartbroken to lose last year. Alvin “Dennis” Hogge, 75, passed away on Feb. 1, 2022, in the loving care of his daughter at his home in Williamsburg, Virginia. Dennis was born in New Kent County and was the second of nine children. He was a United States Marine with an honorable discharge, a Vietnam veteran, a member of the Chickahominy Indians Tribe Eastern Division in New Kent County, and a member of Tsena Commocko Baptist Church. Sherry Marcine Brown was born on Aug. 26, 1939, in Pennsylvania. She lived in the small town of Greencastle until her early teens, when her family sold the Greencastle Sanitary Dairy and moved to Clearwater Island, Florida. After high school at the beach, Sherry attended Florida State University, earning a master’s degree in speech therapy. While enrolled she practiced synchronized swimming and later appeared (underwater) in an Ester Williams movie.
