Arleen Iola Jump, 73, of Walthill, Nebraska, passed away on Sept. 23, 2017. She was born Sept. 29, 1943 to Opechancanough and Flossie (Stewart) Adkins in Charles City, Virginia. After high school, she received her Bachelor’s Degree from Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Arleen worked as a cook at the Omaha Nation School in Macy, Nebraska, for over 34 years. She volunteered at the Walthill Senior Center, was on the board and a member of the Latter-day Saints Church. Arleen was a member of the Chickahominy Tribe in Virginia. Shirley Marie Bigford Moon Morgan, 92, departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. Shirley was born to Mrytle and Ira Bigford on Apr. 20, 1925 in central Michigan. She moved with her family at a young age to upstate New York before moving to Virginia to spend time with her son and family. She is survived by one son, Daniel F. Catherine “Cassie” Suzanne Call, 37, went to be with the Lord Sept. 15, 2017. She joins her mother, Patricia O’Leary, and her grandmother, Martha O’Leary, in heaven. Cassie leaves behind her loving husband, Gregory Allen Call Jr.; her beloved son, Daniel John O’Leary; as well as Jesse, Christa and Amber; her father, Troy Garrett and wife Tina; stepfather, Calvin Piercy; brothers, William and Jeremy O’Leary; sisters, Stephanie Hopkins and Desiree Emmett; her aunt Martha and cousin Heather. She is survived by her loving parents, Devin and Aaron Smorto; twin sister, Savannah Elizabeth; grandparents, Mark and Fran Nevil, Diane Smorto, and Rick and Sue Smorto; great-grandparents, Betty and Wilford Throckmorton, Pat and Rusty Stockholm, and Dorothy Smorto; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jimmy Wayne Hargis, 72, of Providence Forge, VA, passed away on Aug. 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Mattie Lee Hargis; and his wife, Millicent Hargis. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Maria and husband Terry; two sons, Michael and his partner Harry, Charles and wife Molly; a very dear friend, Charlotte; and 21 grandchildren. Victor Birdsong, 63, passed away on June 12, 2017. He was born on Jan. 19, 1954 to H.J. and Frances Birdsong. Victor enjoyed neighbors, gardening, cooking, reading, movies, and carpentry. He was a gentle soul who always extended a helping hand. Victor’s lifelong love of wood led to a career in building and carpentry.
