Richard Shirley “Dick” Ellyson, 78, of New Kent, passed away February 25, 2016. He was an accountant for Reynold’s Metals and was also an Army veteran. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, New Kent Ruritan Club, and Colonial Heights Senior Golf Association. He served for three terms on the New Kent Board of Supervisors, was the interim country treasurer and interim county administrator. He was also a member of the Richmond Regional Planning Commission. Bettye Kate “Katie” Jones, of Lanexa, VA, passed away on January 30, 2016. Katie worked many years at Eastern State Hospital in their garden craft therapy department. She bred golden retrievers for many families. He served in the United State Marine Corp and earned degrees from Randolph Macon College and the College of William & Mary.
