Temple Vaiden Pomfrey
Temple Vaiden Pomfrey, a lifelong resident of New Kent, passed away on May 9, 2016, at the age of 98. Temple and his twin sister, Thelma were born on March 3, 1918 to Simon Augustus and Mary Williams Pomfrey. His older brother, Russell, and sister, Laura, completed the family whose heritage has been centered in New Kent for generations. In 1947, he married Mary Julia Thompson and celebrated their 64th anniversary before her death in 2011. Anne Marie Sites, 94, of Quinton, Virginia, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on November 27, 1921. She is survived by her husband, Warren Sites, to whom she was married to for 72 years. She was a loyal wife and loving mother to their three children; Robert Sites, Richard Sites and Peggy Anne Lyon. Richard Shirley “Dick” Ellyson, 78, of New Kent, passed away February 25, 2016. He was an accountant for Reynold’s Metals and was also an Army veteran. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, New Kent Ruritan Club, and Colonial Heights Senior Golf Association. He served for three terms on the New Kent Board of Supervisors, was the interim country treasurer and interim county administrator. He was also a member of the Richmond Regional Planning Commission. She bred golden retrievers for many families.
