Despite garnering wins in six events, New Kent’s Lady Trojans had to settle for second place at the seventh annual Shoot the Gun and Run Track Invitational on Saturday. The hosting Lady Trojans scored 146.5 points at the meet, finishing a mere 1.5 points behind Bay Rivers foe Tabb who won the meet with 148 points. With communication on the defensive side of the ball and powered by the pitching of Gracie Ellis, New Kent defeated the Colonial Heights Lady Colonials 6-0 in the Mar. 14 contest.
