Lamprecht finishes fourth in 3200-meter run for New Kent at state track meet

New Kent High School’s boys’ track and field team scored eight points to finish 28th in the Group 3A Outdoor State Track & Field Championships held June 3-4 at Liberty University in Lynchburg. Isaac Lamprecht was the top finisher for New Kent, placing fourth in the boys’ 3200-meter run with a time of 9:47.74. Teammate Brandon Heffinger accounted for the other points for the Trojans, finishing sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.81. New Kent High School’s baseball team began the tough task of capturing a state championship Tuesday afternoon as they hosted the Meridian Mustangs. But one thing the Trojans learned, is that nothing is ever given, and the miscues against the Mustangs was a wrong time to learn that lesson.
